This weekend, the weather heats up, and so does the events calendar; take your pick from events that let you eat, sip and shop your way around town. The Taste of Maplewood Street Festival is must, and filled with food and drinks from some of Maplewood and Richmond Heights’ most beloved restaurants and bakeries. Celebrate the German way with Maifest, kick back at Reggae Fest or shop with local makers on South Grand.
Thursday
Taste of Tequila, Splash of Charity
“Join us for the Gateway Hemophilia Association’s Annual Tequila and Margarita Tasting at Sunny’s Cantina. All proceeds will benefit educational scholarships for our members with a bleeding disorder. The event features tequila tastings from vendors, one Sunny’s specialty Margarita or beer from Dos Equis and a dinner buffet. A silent auction will be held during the evening, with music from 2 Pedros.”

Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 day of the event. Guests must be 21 and up to attend.
Friday
German Cultural Society’s Maifest at Donau Park in High Ridge
Welcome to Maifest! The three-day event dance performances, presentation of the Maibaum and an extensive menu of food and drink for you to enjoy at the festival or take to go. Continuous entertainment all weekend will include traditional German Music from Die Spitzbaum and Deutschmeister Brass Band and German Folk Dance performances by The German Cultural Society’s dance groups. The dance groups will also perform the traditional Maypole dance. No pets, service animals are permitted.
May 19 from 7 to 10 p.m., May 20 from 5 to 10 p.m. and May 21 from 12 to 6 p.m.
Taste of Maplewood Street Festival
“The festival, in its 15th year, is a culmination of Maplewood and Richmond Heights’ most renowned restaurants, beloved boutiques and unique specialty stores. The event kicks off on Friday evening with a pre-party and includes live entertainment, food vendors and more! The event continues on Saturday with a full roster of vendors on the street offering their signature bites, libations, demonstrations and unique items! Join us for one day or both!”

South Grand Makers Pop-Up
“Held in Ritz Park, the South Grand Makers Pop-Up events feature textiles and other wearables from local makers. After you shop, check out the culinary delights along South Grand Boulevard.” Free admission. From noon to 4 p.m.
Good Ice, Great Gin: A Love Letter to Gin & Why Ice Matters
“Ryan Maybee, the co-founder of J. Rieger & Co., returns to STL for this one-of-a-kind event sponsored by J. Rieger and Good Ice! Guests will experience a unique seminar that will cover a brief history of the J. Rieger brand, a deeper dive into their recently-awarded Double Gold-winning Midwestern Dry Gin, a glimpse into Ryan’s extensive cocktail knowledge and an up-close and personal look at the stunning, crystal clear ice from Good Ice. The Spring Reggae Fest & Food Truck Feast
“This Spring Reggae Festival will showcase great reggae bands including this year’s headliner Non Stop Reggae. Local vendors and great food trucks will be on hand for you to feast at the festival. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the day!” Event is from 1 to 7 p.m.; tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the gate and $25 for VIP tickets.

“Join us for the German Spring Festival at New Town Amphitheater in St. Charles, Missouri, from 2 to 6 p.m. Enjoy pretzels, bratwurst, sauerkraut, strudel and more.” General admission $30. All ages welcome.
Soulard B3 Festival in Soulard Market Park
“Spend the day in Soulard on Sunday, May 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.at this free community event held at Soulard Market Park. The festival will feature live music from the Kingdom Brothers, Marsha Evans and the Coalition, the John McVey Band and more. Feeling peckish? Dig into dishes from Hammerstone’s, Joanie’s To-Go, Molly’s in Soulard, The Woodshack and more, and wash it all down with craft beers from local breweries such as 2nd Shift Brewing, Civil Life Brewing Co., O’Fallon Brewery and Perennial Artisan Ales. The festival will also feature art vendors and a kids’ zone.” Free admission.
