It’s boil season, St. Louis, and there’s no one more qualified to throw the first community boil of the year than Kevin Nashan. The Boil STL: a benefit to support Mission: St. Louis, hosted by Peacemaker Lobster & Crab along with 4 Hands Brewing Co., is hitting The Garage on April 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Mission St. Louis, a nonprofit in north St. Louis city that works with individuals to help them achieve self-sufficiency.
All ages are welcome to attend, and the atmosphere is family-friendly. This will be the fourth year for the event, and one many St. Louisans eagerly anticipate. This year’s event will be at The Garage, a new event space downtown that’s home to concerts by night and assorted pop-ups by day. Boil attendees can expect live music, all-day fun and of course, one of the best seafood boils you’ll have this year.
Supporting Mission: St. Louis is near and dear to Kevin Nashan, chef and owner of Peacemaker Lobster & Crab. “Mission: St. Louis is a place for individuals in the St. Louis community to find a path in whatever direction that might be to help empower and make themselves better and the St. Louis community stronger,” he says. “Doing events like the Boil event helps raise money and awareness for this great mission and assist financially to help make those dreams come true.” The organization works in many ways to support individuals within the community, including removing barriers that exist between employment and education and fostering social and economic mobility for all. Its three programs – Beyond School, Each1 and Beyond Charity – work in tandem to fight poverty in both the short and long term.
