With the promise of spring on the horizon, February has been an exciting month for the St. Louis food scene – and for those itching to try a new restaurant.
Kain Tayo brought its highly coveted Filipino cuisine all the way from Trenton, Illinois, to Midtown this month. Elsewhere, Chicken Scratch, one of the most popular restaurants in City Foundry STL’s Food Hall, opened an additional location in Glendale. In Ferguson, Hive Cafe opened a co-working space perfect for breakfast brainstorming. And Up Late is filling the gap in late-night eats on Vandeventer.
One restaurant that closed its doors this month was Maplewood’s iconic Deer Creek Bar & Grill. The eatery was severely damaged by flooding last July but was able to rally and reopen; unfortunately, it has now shuttered for good.
